Mission The
Community Alliance for Education is an independent, nonprofit organization
that facilitates community collaboration, commitment and action for
educational excellence in our public schools.
Vision
The Alliance envisions Forsyth County as a community whose citizens are empowered and collaboratively engaged to ensure quality public education for every child.
Purposes
We will pursue our mission and vision through four interrelated purposes:
- Convene citizens to deliberate educational issues, frame public debates, forge public consensus and influence policy decisions.
- Provide unbiased information to inform, engage and empower the community.
- Strengthen the capacity and opportunity of citizens to participate individually and collectively in our public schools.
- Support professional development and enhance respect for teachers, administrators and staff.
Guiding Principals
The board of the Community Alliance for Education is deliberately diverse, as we try to model the hopes we have for our community. We differ in perspectives, but we are united in the beliefs that:
- Every child can learn and needs to be valued.
- All students have a right to high expectations for achievement from teachers, parents, schools and the community.
- The community has a responsibility to promote and nurture the education of its youth.
- The public schools and community share mutual accountability for quality education.
- Diverse community opinions, perspectives and voices need to be heard and valued.
- The best public decisions are made through community dialogue and consensus, followed by constructive action.
